Posted

Modular Devices Acquisition LLC announced that it plans to create 52, high-paying positions in Indianapolis in response to demand for its mobile and modular medical imaging labs and cleanroom solutions.

Modular Devices is the leading provider of mobile and modular medical imaging equipment labs and cleanroom solutions throughout the U.S. Based in Indianapolis, Modular Devices is a long-time driver of innovation in the mobile cath lab industry. The company recently announced the acquisition of Cardiac Services Mobile, Inc., a mobile cath lab company out of Nashville, Tenn. that serves U.S. markets. Modular Devices is the only company offering modular cath labs as a stock-standard product available for rent.

Modular Devices has two growing business units. The Imaging division offers short and long-term interim rentals of temporary Modular and Mobile Cath\ Vascular Labs, CT Labs, PET/CT Labs and MRI Labs to hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout the USA and North America. Every lab in their fleet shares a commitment to their high-quality standards with only the newest and most advanced imaging technology available. The Mobile Cleanroom division provides cleanroom solutions serving the high growth biotech markets for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT), stem cell therapy, tissue processing, biosafety, trace metals and others. The company currently employs 27 individuals.

Based on the company’s plans to hire 52 employees by the end of 2026, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) committed an investment of up to $475,000 in the form of incentive-based tax credits and up to $50,000 in conditional training grants. The tax credits are performance-based, meaning the company is eligible to claim incentives once Hoosiers are hired and trained.

“Modular Devices is committed to keeping Indiana as the hub of its growth strategy,” said Chief Financial Officer Sarah Robison. “We greatly appreciate the support we’ve received from city and state leaders, and especially from the IEDC. We are excited to be able to grow our company here in Indianapolis, grow the biotechnology industry in Indiana and to offer high-tech jobs to Indiana residents and graduates of Indiana colleges and universities.”

State and local support is key to the company’s continued growth, she said.

“Indiana’s lifesciences and health care sector has earned a national, and even international, reputation for innovation, and we are pleased to see Modular Devices adding to our reputation,” said Ann Lathrop, IEDC’s executive vice president of global investments. “We’ll be watching this company as it continues to grow.”

Sikich Site Selection & Incentives assisted Modular Devices Acquisition LLC in securing incentive assistance.

“Indiana makes it attractive for companies to locate and expand, and we are pleased that a company of Modular Devices’ caliber has recognized that,” said Jenny Massey, national director of site selection and business incentives at Sikich, LLP.
