Meta, Be Pro Be Proud Bring Skilled-Trades Simulators to Jeffersonville

Posted

Be Pro Be Proud and Meta brought their 10th Anniversary Mobile Workshop Tour to Jeffersonville recently, partnering with One Southern Indiana and Maker13 during One Southern Indiana Manufacturing Week to give local participants exposure to high-demand technical careers. This follows the announcement of a $500,000 investment from Meta in Be Pro Be Proud’s mobile workshop.

The activation showcased interactive simulators, connecting career exploration directly to the manufacturing workforce and career pathways driving Southern Indiana’s regional economy. The Jeffersonville stop highlights an ongoing national partnership between Meta and Be Pro Be Proud designed to bridge the skilled-trades gap by bringing mobile technical training to local communities.

“Our partnership with One Southern Indiana goes back to before we broke ground on the Jeffersonville Data Center,” said Kenton Wooden, community engagement manager at Meta. “The welders and electricians who build the infrastructure behind America’s AI future are the same professionals Southern Indiana’s manufacturers depend on. Whatever path these students choose, we’re glad they get to explore the Mobile Workshop firsthand.”

  • Workforce Impact: The Jeffersonville stop focused specifically on strengthening Southern Indiana’s regional manufacturing talent pipeline.
  • Local Collaboration: Hosted in direct partnership with One Southern Indiana (1Si) and Maker13 as a featured highlight of Manufacturing Week.
  • National Tour Scope: Part of a broader 10-stop national tour celebrating Be Pro Be Proud's 10-year anniversary, visiting key sites across Alabama, Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.

The joint initiative leverages cross-sector support from Meta, regional leadership, and communities to inspire the next generation of technical workers.
