One Southern Indiana Announces New CEO and President

Posted

The search for a new One Southern Indiana (1si) President and CEO has successfully concluded. The Board of Directors has announced that Lance Allison, a Murray, KY native, has been selected as the next leader of the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development organization. He is expected to start in mid-March and follows Wendy Dant Chesser, who led the organization from 2012 to 2023.

Allison has a proven record of demonstrated success and growth, serving as CEO and President of two chambers: Murray-Calloway County in Kentucky and Panama City Beach in Florida. He is a graduate of Murray State University and was most recently employed as the Director of Business Development with Bacon Farmer Workman (BFW) Engineering & Testing / Marcum Engineering LLC.

“Lance not only has a deep appreciation for both the chamber and economic development aspects of our organization, but he also brings incredible strengths in building sincere and trusted relationships, which also was evidenced throughout his interaction with our board members, investors, and staff,” said 1si Board of Directors Chair Bryan Wickens. “His experience, ideas, and passion for being an industry professional, supporting professional growth not only for himself but staff as well, will make him an invaluable leader of our organization. We are convinced Lance is the right leader at the right time for 1si.”

At the Murray-Calloway County Chamber, Allison led the chamber to U.S. Chamber Accreditation, a high distinction held by less than 200 chambers, and created and led a new strategic plan. The chamber was also named the 2012 Mid-Size Chamber of the Year by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. At the Panama City Beach Chamber, Allison led the chamber in the increase of membership retention, improved operational and financial results, and created strong relationships with local partners.

“I am humbled and honored to be selected as the next President and CEO of 1si,” said Allison. “I’m excited for the future of this great organization and building on the foundation of success built over the years through Wendy, the staff, and the Board of Directors.”
