Franciscan Health Foundation to Create St. Elizabeth Garden in Lafayette

Posted

The Franciscan Health Foundation in Lafayette is campaigning to raise funds to create the St. Elizabeth Garden, which will be located in the footprint of the previous St. Elizabeth School of Nursing building. This was also the previous site of St. Francis High School.

Construction is currently taking place to demolish the current parking garage and skywalk that connect the garage to the Franciscan Health Lafayette Central campus, making way for the St. Elizabeth Garden.

The St. Elizabeth Garden will not only honor the history of the school and its graduates, but it will also create a functional green space for current students and faculty. The garden will beautify the campus and surrounding community with perennials, new trees, a walking path, benches, statues and sculptures.

The garden will be equipped with an outdoor educational space that will include room for study, relaxation and reflection. Lastly, this space will create an opportunity for alumni and friends to leave their legacy etched in stone.

Those interested in contributing to or sponsoring an item, (e.g., engraved paver, tree, bench, statue or pavilion), in the St. Elizabeth Garden, can contact Jennifer Eberly at 765-423-6812 or jennifer.eberly@franciscanalliance.org.
