Teachers Credit Union (TCU) has completed a 15-month renovation of its corporate headquarters in downtown South Bend — the first major upgrade since the building opened in 1986.
The project, done in phases to allow the facility to remain open during most of the work, involved a complete update of the 60,000 square-foot, five-story corporate headquarters, including adapting the ground-floor service center to meet members’ modern needs, upgrading technology, and redesigning office space.
“These updates keep TCU on the cutting-edge of a changing industry, ensuring that we will continue to provide the efficient, personal service our members value,” TCU President and CEO Paul Marsh said. “As a local institution for nearly a century, and a downtown anchor on Main Street for more than three decades, TCU takes special pride in enhancing its home in the heart of South Bend.”
Hand sanitizers, signs about social distancing and team members wearing face coverings were not part of the project, but they are in place for the safety of members who visit.

TCU was founded in 1931. Since then, the company has grown to 54 locations and more than 300,000 members - making it the largest credit union in Indiana. TCU offers a range of traditional banking services, investments, and insurance. The company is also part of the CO-OP Shared Branch Network, which means that members have the freedom to walk into 5,600 different credit union locations nationwide to do business.
