Subaru of Indiana Automotive Announces Executive Changes

Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) is announced that Nobuyuki Bando has been appointed Chairman and CEO, succeeding Ryota Fukumizu, President and CEO, who is returning to Japan to serve as Chief General Manager of Monozukuri (Manufacturing) Division.

Bando has served Subaru Corp. in various leadership roles within the Quality, Production Control and Manufacturing Divisions. He also previously served as SIA's Senior Coordinator, Quality Control from 2009 to 2013. Most recently, Bando served as Senior General Manager of the Monozukuri Division of Subaru Corp., Gunma Prefecture, Japan, following several senior leadership roles in Manufacturing and Production Control.

In his new role, Bando will lead Subaru's North American manufacturing operations through the automotive industry's "once-in-a-century period of transformation," ensuring alignment with Subaru's "One Subaru" global vision.

Scott Brand has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), the first American to serve in the role. Brand began his career at SIA in 1989 and has served in a variety of leadership roles within SIA's Manufacturing, Production Control, Quality and Materials Management Departments. Prior to being named President and COO, Brand served as Executive Vice President and Vice President, Human Resources. In his new assignment, Brand will oversee SIA's operational and administrative functions. Brand will report to Bando in his new role.

Brand also serves on the board of directors for Autos Drive America, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), Conexus Indiana, Indiana Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), Wabash Heartland Innovation Network (WHIN), and as a trustee for Vincennes University.
