New Online Marketplace for Vetted Woodworkers

Posted

Indianapolis-based Chizel is proud to announce the launch of its online marketplace, where vetted woodworkers from around the Midwest can showcase and sell their high-quality handcrafted pieces. Chizel is committed to promoting artisanal woodworking by connecting customers with master craftsmen and providing a platform for the sale of their one-of-a-kind pieces.

Chizel was founded by Andrew Duncan and Tyler Jones out of Indianapolis, IN. The idea was formed after years of Tyler watching his grandfather become a highly skilled woodworker, yet not having the proper space to be discovered by homeowners, gift givers, and everyday shoppers. After months of research and conversations with experienced woodworkers, Andrew and Tyler began building the marketplace in October of 2022.

The Chizel team has onboarded 20+ talented woodworkers from the Midwest that have listed nearly 60 unique, one-of-one, items to the marketplace. The intuitive marketplace platform allows woodworkers to build in-depth profiles with a personal photo, bio, and geographic location that can be used as a digital storefront. On the flip side, the marketplace allows shoppers to search for handcrafted pieces by keyword, product category, and/or location. This facilitates shoppers supporting local vendors, while also allowing them to purchase items that can be shipped.

Dillon Fawcett, Iowa woodworker and Chizel’s first vendor, shared “It is challenging to find a customer base as a woodworker. Chizel has given me a platform to find new customers easily. I also appreciate that it is solely focused on woodworking, so I don't have to swim in the unending sea of online vendors selling everything. I love collecting tools, and the Chizel marketplace is a tool I am happy to have in my collection.”

To celebrate the launch, early customers will receive a free pair of handcrafted coasters directly from the Chizel vendor, R&K Farmhouse Creations. Visit www.chizel.shop to shop directly from vetted woodworkers.
