Posted

Ivy Tech Day  made a big impact for the more than 11,000 students at Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington. During the college’s third annual day of giving, alumni, friends, employees, and partners gave $39,588 from 178 gifts. Bloomington ranked third statewide for total funds raised among Ivy Tech’s 19 campuses.

Statewide, Ivy Tech saw its most successful giving day yet, with $483,813 raised from more than 2,800 gifts. Donations support scholarships and student success programs, including Ivy Tech’s nationally ranked nursing program, which graduates more associate-level nurses (ASN/RN) than any other school in the country.

Some of the funds will help nursing students in need cover the cost of the NCLEX exam, one of the final steps to becoming a nurse.

“We are removing barriers with Ivy Tech Day funds, including funding for certification exams, emergency aid, faculty development, and other student support such as scholarships,” Heidi Schulz, executive director of development said. "Ivy Tech Bloomington is grateful to our donors for their gifts, which will have a lasting impact on our students and communities.”

The Bloomington campus offers $160,000 in scholarships each year to help students pay college costs and complete their education.
