IU Health White Memorial Hospital Earns The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal

Posted

Indiana University Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello has once again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval in recognition of the hospital’s commitment to providing safe and high-quality patient care.

Gold Seal accreditation is internationally recognized as the gold standard in hospital accreditation.

White Memorial Hospital underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review in June 2024, during which a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated the hospital’s compliance with critical standards that spanned emergency management and infection prevention to patient safety and hospital leadership. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance.

This accreditation is valid until June 2027.

“We are honored to receive accreditation from The Joint Commission, which recognizes our commitment to providing high-quality care,” says Renea Smith, White Memorial Hospital chief nursing officer. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our staff and our ongoing mission to serve the Monticello community with excellence.”
