Indiana Company First to Offer Optional Tire Fit for Challenger 600/601 Aircrafts

sage-popovich, inc. (SPI) has achieved a milestone in the aviation industry with the acquisition of both a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) and a Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) to deploy Dunlop Aircraft tires for Challenger 600/601 series aircrafts.

The drive to offer a secondary tire option to the market has been in the works since 2015 when a Goodyear Flight Leader tire on SPI’s own aircraft failed. “Upon receiving results of various laboratory tests alongside AIN’s article reporting 27 similar incidents around the same time period, it became apparent that there was a pressing need for a safer alternative,” remarked Nick Popovich, Chairman of SPI.

SPI partnered closely with Dunlop Aviation to ensure that the newly approved tires not only meet stringent safety criteria but were also cost-effective without compromising quality or reliability.

"With safety as the paramount concern for operators, our goal was to provide the market with a safe, cost-effective alternative," stated Petar Todorovic, President of SPI. "In addition to obtaining the STC and PMA for Dunlop Challenger Aircraft Tires, we have also built a substantial inventory to provide operators with immediate availability if the need arises," Todorovic added.
