Hendricks Health and Monroe-Gregg Schools Expand Nursing Partnership

Posted

Hendricks Regional Health and Monroe-Gregg School District have expanded their partnership to support the school nursing program at Monroe-Gregg Schools, effective August 1, 2024.

Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, a Hendricks Regional Health registered nurse will join the Monroe-Gregg team, assisting with daily operations. Monroe-Gregg nurses will also have access to education and training through Hendricks and receive help ordering supplies, meeting state reporting requirements and setting up clinics.

“Monroe-Gregg School District has enjoyed our partnership with Hendricks Regional Health. They have provided us with an athletic trainer for a few years, and we could not be happier,” said Trent Provo, superintendent of Monroe-Gregg School District. “When one of our nurses left our district, we immediately reached out to HRH to discuss their school nursing program. We quickly found that the agreement fit our needs and even provided some benefits we did not expect.”

“As a community-driven healthcare system, we prioritize and are proud of the relationships we've built throughout west central Indiana," said Dr. Michelle Fenoughty, President & CEO of Hendricks Regional Health. "There's not another group so thoroughly integrated into the community as a school. When we team up, Hendricks focuses on wellness and prevention so schools can do what they do best: educating the next generation. We are grateful for the trust of Monroe-Gregg and look forward to serving as a resource for families in Monrovia."

Hendricks works with 13 K-12 public school corporations, DePauw University and Wabash College in various ways, including sports medicine, school nursing, employer wellness services and narrow networks.
