Kathleen Kioussopoulos, RN, MBA, has been appointed research director of the Franciscan Alliance Research Administration at the Mishawaka, Indiana-based Franciscan Alliance.
In that role, she provides leadership and oversight of all research activities for 13 Franciscan hospitals in Indiana and south-suburban Chicago. Those activities include areas such as cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, orthopedics, oncology, pulmonary/critical care, gastroenterology and internal medicine.
Kioussopoulos most previously served as director of cardiovascular research at Franciscan Health Indianapolis and was responsible for developing research for Franciscan Physician Network Indiana Heart Physicians. Before joining Franciscan Health in 2016, she was research director for Baptist Health Lexington in Kentucky.
An Indianapolis resident, Kioussopoulos received her undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Colorado. She earned a master's of business administration at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Kioussopoulos, who has been widely published in professional journals and presented frequently on research and clinical trials topics, is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Association of Clinical Research Professionals, Society of Clinical Research Associates and the National Lipid Association.
