Fort Wayne architectural firm Elevatus has added Mark Snyder as Project Executive of Education to its team. With nearly three decades of experience in the education sector, including roles as a teacher, school principal, and CFO, Snyder will drive client relationships and lead business development efforts for the firm’s flourishing education market.
Snyder began his career as a classroom teacher, where he developed a firsthand understanding of student needs and educational dynamics. After nearly a decade in teaching, he transitioned into administration, taking on roles as both assistant principal and principal. These experiences gave him a unique perspective on the challenges and rewards of managing a school, from engaging students and supporting teachers to making decisions that shape a positive school culture.
Building on his classroom and administrative experience, Snyder took on the role of Director of Business for MSD of Southwest Allen County Schools, where he managed a $100 million-plus annual budget and oversaw departments including Finance, Transportation, Food Services, and Buildings/Grounds. He led key initiatives such as securing bonds for major building projects and revising employee benefit plans, all with a focus on creating environments that serve both staff and students effectively.
Snyder’s extensive background, rooted in a commitment to creating supportive, inspiring learning environments, aligns perfectly with the Elevatus mission to design spaces that foster growth, innovation, and well-being. His blend of skills, values, and dedication to the education community make him an exceptional addition to Elevatus team.
Over the past year, the Elevatus Education market has experienced remarkable growth, serving 16 different school corporation clients across Northern Indiana. This expansion underscores the team’s commitment to elevating educational spaces, partnering with schools to create environments that inspire learning and support the evolving needs of students and educators. With the addition of Snyder to our team, we are poised to build on this momentum, further enhancing our growth and dedication to creating inspiring, student-centered learning environments across the region.
“I am excited to join Elevatus and to continue working with school communities to provide excellent spaces for students and staff,” said Snyder. “Elevatus’ reputation for impactful design is inspiring, and I look forward to contributing my experiences and insights as an educator to help shape these important projects.”
Snyder holds a Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics from Indiana University/Purdue University.
