The Mammoth Solar project, in partnership with NovaSource Power Services (“NovaSource”), donated an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and supporting equipment to the Bass Lake California Township Volunteer Fire Department in Starke County. The donation highlights the project’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and ensuring that first responders have the resources they need to protect and serve residents.
The new ATV will significantly improve the fire department’s ability to reach emergencies in difficult terrain, particularly around Bass Lake and throughout the county’s rural areas.
“The Bass Lake Fire Department is very appreciative of Mammoth Solar and NovaSource’s support and donation of this ATV, which will help our team in our mission to keep the community safe.” said Darrell Crase, Bass Lake Fire Chief.
The developer of Mammoth Solar, Doral Renewables, has made community engagement and investment a cornerstone of its work in Indiana, and particularly in Starke and Pulaski counties. Partnering with NovaSource, the project’s operations and maintenance firm, this donation reflects a shared dedication to public safety and to ensuring local emergency services are well equipped to meet the needs of the community.
“Doral Renewables aims to establish and implement the highest safety standards in all of our projects. Doing so across Mammoth Solar is of the highest priority,” said Chris Hinton, VP of Asset and Performance Management for Doral Renewables. “We are proud to support the Bass Lake California Township Volunteer Fire Department and to help ensure they have the tools necessary to best serve the community.”
“At NovaSource, we believe our responsibility extends beyond maintaining large solar projects – we are also neighbors and partners in the communities where we operate. Supporting the Bass Lake Fire Department with this donation is just one way we can help strengthen local emergency responses and give back to Starke County,” added Scott Mariana, Regional Director of US Power Plant Field Operations at NovaSource.
The Bass Lake California Township Volunteer Fire Department plays a vital role in protecting the Starke County community by responding to emergencies and safeguarding its residents and property. The ATV will help to enhance the department’s mobility, speed, and effectiveness, especially in emergencies that require movement through rural terrain and off-road locations.
