Coolest AE Projects: Horton Family Children’s Education Center

Posted

Indiana architects and engineers have a ton of cool projects going on, but we wanted to hear about the ones that got them most excited. So, we put out the call to firms throughout the state for their input on the coolest architecture and engineering projects that have taken place in the last few years.

No requirements in terms of project cost, scale, location, or industry. We simply wanted the experts to tell us about the most exciting and interesting projects they’ve recently worked on. Their responses did not disappoint. Check out what Chester, Inc. shared with us:

Construction Partners:

Two divisions of Valparaiso-based Chester, Inc. worked together to establish the unique Horton Family Children’s Education Center at Sunset Hill Park. Both the Architectural and Construction Services and Agricultural Systems divisions collaborated to create a versatile commercial-grade building with a farm-like aesthetic.

From the outside, the building looks very much like an agricultural facility. But on the inside, it has a classroom-style setup that has a thematic feeling inside was is essentially a fully structured grain storage system. The location will offer children STEM-based educational programs and opportunities. The Horton Family Children’s Education Center will more than double the educational programs with the new building.
