Lippert Components, Inc. (LCI) announced plans to expand its business operations in Northwest Indiana, creating up 200 new jobs in the next three years.
Founded in 1958, LCI is an international supplier of components to the recreational vehicle and manufactured housing industries, as well as adjacent industries including bus, cargo, equestrian trailer, marine and heavy truck. LCI has grown to over 9,000 employees internationally and is continuing to expand and diversify its product lines.
“We are thankful that we are able to continue expanding our business allowing us to add more great people to the Lippert family. There have been a lot of uncertainties in 2020, but we are grateful to be able to continue to increase our presence in the Northern Indiana region,” said Ryan Smith, Group President, North America.
Expanding to Northwest Indiana allows LCI to tap into a broader and more diverse labor market while at the same time creating an exceptional geographic logistical advantage. For now, LCI plans to lease a modest modern manufacturing space and will consider expanding further in La Porte County in the future.
Sheila Matias, La Porte County Board of Commissioners President, stated, “This is terrific news for LaPorte County. I want to extend an enthusiastic welcome to Mr. Smith and the team from Lippert Components as they come to La Porte County to grow and expand their business. While 2020 has been full of constant challenges, this great news ensures opportunities for citizens who will be future Lippert employees. As a collaborative partner with our business community, we stay focused on our mission to promote our county as a great place to do business and to raise a family. Our county’s workforce is second to none with a strong work ethic. We continue to work closely with our workforce development partner, among them Ivy Tech, the Indiana Work One Centers, and Purdue University Northwest.”
“We could not be more pleased with Lippert’s choice to invest in La Porte County and strongly support them 110% as they continue down their path to increase market share, increase customer base and increase efficiency. When all levels of government work cooperatively, we can encourage and promote commercial and industrial investment. This is a great day for Lippert Components and La Porte County as a whole. Our economic activity this year has truly shown what working together can do for all residents of La Porte County,” stated Randy Novak, President of La Porte County Council.
LCI will begin hiring immediately and training employees at its new location in Westville, Indiana. Interested applicants may attend a hiring event on December 15th from 12:00pm to 6:00pm CST at the LaPorte County Civic Center (1001 Ridge Rd.) or apply online at www.lci1.com/careers.
