CLH, CPAs & Consultants Gives Back Across NWI Through Fall Service Projects

Posted

CLH, CPAs & Consultants continued its commitment to communities across Northwest Indiana this fall by supporting Operation Feed LaPorte County and the Walks to End Alzheimer’s events in La Porte County and Porter County.

CLH proudly supported Operation Feed LaPorte County, an organization dedicated to providing local food pantries with locally-raised meat to help provide essential resources to families throughout the county. Members of the CLH team recently volunteered during the organization’s Distribution Day, helping sort, lift, and distribute food and supplies to those in need. Cathy Homan, Associate at CLH and Board Member of Operation Feed LaPorte County, led the CLH volunteer team. She was joined by CLH Staff Accountants Colin Flanigan, Matthew Flanigan and Reid Schroeder.

The team distributed 14,000 pounds of food and essential supplies, including canned goods, frozen meat, fresh vegetables, eggs, bread, and hygiene products sourced from local businesses.

“We were definitely getting a workout lifting boxes and canned goods, frozen meat and bars of soap,” said Cathy Homan. “But it was incredibly rewarding to see how many people and organizations came together to make this distribution possible. It’s a great example of what can happen when our local community works together.”

Community engagement and volunteerism are an important part of CLH’s commitment to the communities the firm serves. As part of that commitment, CLH donated over 1,800 pounds of livestock and poultry purchased through the LaPorte County 4-H Livestock Auction, helping turn local agricultural support into meaningful assistance for families across the county.

That commitment also extended to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in both La Porte and Porter Counties. CLH sponsored the “Selfie Station” at each Walk. CLH team members Seth Stemper, Madison Hayes, Yongshi Huang, and Emily Abuatieh staffed the booths at events, took participants’ photos, and supplied fun props. Each team created engaging experiences that added to the energy of the events and gave participants another way to commemorate their involvement.

Lynn Duttlinger, CLH Senior Director and Chairman of the Executive Leadership Team for the Northwest Indiana Walks to End Alzheimer’s, has been recognized as a top fundraiser for the Northwest Indiana Walks and has raised more than $80,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association to date.

“The Walk to End Alzheimer’s brings people together for a cause that touches so many families throughout our communities,” said Lynn Duttlinger. “I’m proud to see our CLH team get involved and find a fun, personal way to support participants at both Walks. Whether we’re volunteering, raising funds or simply showing up to support the cause, it’s meaningful to be part of this effort.”

These service efforts also coincided with the Indiana CPA Society’s 2026 CPA Day of Service, held September 25. The annual statewide event gives Indiana’s accounting professionals an opportunity to connect with colleagues and give back to their communities. Each year, hundreds of INCPAS members and accounting students participate in virtual or in-person service projects with their teams.

“Community service is an important part of who we are as a firm,” said Tony Gillisse, CPA and Partner, at CLH. “Through Operation Feed, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and other opportunities throughout the region, we’re grateful for the chance to work alongside organizations that are making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.”
