Ceramica, Inc. Acquires Fundraising Brick

Posted

Ceramica, Inc., a family-owned wholesale manufacturer of engraved masonry and stone building materials based in Indianapolis, has acquired Fundraising Brick, LLC, a leading provider of laser-engraved brick and fundraising solutions. This acquisition enhances Ceramica’s capabilities, allowing the company to expand its product offerings, increase production capacity and continue its commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship.

Co-owners Zack and Shana Light will lead this next phase of growth for Ceramica and Fundraising Brick, ensuring a seamless transition and an elevated experience for customers. Since its founding, Ceramica has contributed to several high-profile projects across Indiana, including the Indiana War Memorial, Indianapolis Zoo, St. Vincent Women’s Hospital, Bartholomew County Veterans Memorial and Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s engraved fundraising pavers, which helped raise over $1 million from an initial $150,000 investment.

“This acquisition is the first step in a period of strategic growth, positioning both businesses to successfully evolve and expand,” said Zack Light, co-owner of Ceramica and Fundraising Brick. “Sandblasting and laser engraving produce similar brick products, but with unique features and characteristics. Some prefer the efficiency and longevity of lasered bricks, while others prefer handmade craftsmanship that's evident in sandblasted bricks. Thirty-seven years after Ceramica’s founding, we're glad to serve both customer types.”

Following its acquisition of Fundraising Brick, Ceramica is expanding its customer marketing support services to provide a seamless experience from product selection to campaign execution. Ceramica customers will now have access to precision laser engraving on brick, tile and granite, allowing for intricate details, including photo-realistic etchings. Fundraising Brick customers will benefit from a broader selection of high-quality engraved masonry and stone materials, such as concrete, limestone and granite. Ceramica is also investing in advanced engraving technology to enhance production efficiency while upholding its high quality standards. Additionally, integrating Fundraising Brick’s proven fundraising support services will empower all customers to execute impactful donor recognition programs with greater success.

“It has been an incredible journey building Fundraising Brick, and I am proud of what we have accomplished,” said Jennifer Stemmley, CEO of Fundraising Brick. “I am confident that this next chapter will be the best yet for both organizations. Under Zack and Shana’s leadership, customers can expect further innovation, exceptional service and exciting new customization opportunities.”

Ceramica and Fundraising Brick will continue to operate as separate entities with Zack and Shana Light at the helm of both companies. The third Light family generation to lead Ceramica, the husband-and-wife team has a combined two decades of experience in digital strategy, marketing, product development and merchandising. Zack and Shana left traditional career paths in 2022 to take over Ceramica’s business from Zack’s aunt, Marianne, applying their entrepreneurial spirit to the company’s homegrown roots.
