Sustainable transportation has been on the minds of a lot of companies these days, especially for those with vehicle fleets. Times are changing and there’s a lot of new alternatives out there. Plus, there might be free money for companies that want to make the switch to a sustainable fleet.
To learn more, Building Indiana spoke with Carl Lisek, executive director of South Shore Clean Cities. They are a nonprofit from St. John, IN that works to make transportation more sustainable. One of the ways they do that is by helping companies secure grants to offset the costs of equipment like electric vehicles, charging stations, or alternative fuels. These grants might just cover a sizeable portion of the costs for some companies, maybe even 100% - making a sustainable fleet much cheaper than most would expect.
