SPARK Program Graduates Community Business Owners 

The Saint Mary’s College Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI) is proud to announce this fall session’s SPARK program graduation will be held today at 6 p.m. in Carroll Auditorium, Madeleva Hall.

SPARK has graduated over 214 women since the first program in 2011. The graduates have launched over 80 sustained business. SPARK is an intensive 11-week program serving women in the greater South Bend-Elkhart area. The women in the 2018 class represent a rich diversity of backgrounds and their businesses cover a wide range of industries including machining, transportation and logistics, child care, retail, food service, performing arts, career services, health care, fitness, event planning, hair and beauty, technology and more.

This fall members of the SPARK team attended the Global Detroit Conference to study best practices in engaging immigrants in entrepreneurship. We have added an additional class facilitator and are amplifying outreach to Latina entrepreneurs in preparation for the 2019 women’s business accelerator.
