As institutions strive to offer cutting-edge education and prepare students for diverse careers in music, they require comprehensive support and tailored solutions. Yamaha Higher Education Solutions (HES) is at the forefront of addressing these evolving needs, providing the expertise and support essential to ensure the next generation of artists, educators, and creators thrive.

Who Can Help

These include world-class instruments, cutting-edge technology, and individualized solutions designed to meet each institution’s unique needs. Since its founding in 1887, Yamaha has worked continuously to innovate musical instruments, audio products, and music education in collaboration with college and university partners.

Consider These Colleges

Cerritos College in Norwalk, one of the leading community colleges in Los Angeles County, offers students a complete “One Yamaha” experience. Cerritos College’s Music Department is equipped with flagship Yamaha & Bösendorfer Disklavier concert pianos, Premium and Conservatory grand pianos, hybrid pianos, professional concert percussion, digital drums, top-of-the-line synthesizers, Dante-enabled MLC200 group piano lab controller, Steinberg notation & music production software, NEXO sound reinforcement theater speakers, Rivage and DM series mixing consoles, ensuring a top-tier educational environment.

Augustana University has seen its music program flourish under the guidance of Dr. Peter Folliard. The university established its first-ever marching band, fully equipped with Yamaha instruments, and invested in a million dollars’ worth of new pianos, including technology-enhanced models like the DCFX Concert Grand and AvantGrand Hybrid Pianos. Additionally, Augustana University implemented a DM7 digital mixer for its hockey arena, demonstrating Yamaha’s versatility across campus. Dr. Folliard remarks, “Our partnership with Yamaha has been transformative for Augustana University. Their comprehensive support has equipped our music program with state-of-the-art instruments and technology, fostering excellence throughout our campus.”

Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) has also benefitted significantly from the help of Yamaha HES. Under the leadership of Chair Kevin Hampton and Dean Rhonda Weller-Stilson, SEMO addressed the need for new pianos through fundraising and donor support, leveraging Yamaha’s globally recognized brand. SEMO’s dedication to innovation paved the way for the Yamaha Institution of Excellence designation and has laid the foundation for a close and rewarding partnership between Yamaha and the university. The university has received nearly a million dollars in new pianos, $200k in new band instruments, a custom drumline, and discussions are underway to upgrade the Bedell Performance Center’s sound system. Additionally, thanks to its partnership with Yamaha, SEMO is pioneering new curricula designed to equip students for the evolving landscape of music careers.
