Orthopaedic Specialists of Northwest Indiana (OSNI) recently welcomed two new doctors into their practice; Dr. Daniel Woods, sports medicine and orthopedic surgeon, and Dr. Craig Best, physical medicine & rehabilitation specialist.

Dr. Daniel Woods

Dr. Craig Best

Dr. Daniel Woods, M.D., is a fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist who focuses on treating injuries to the knee and shoulder, including ACL and rotator cuff repair, as well as UCL reconstruction of the elbow. After completing his fellowship training in sports medicine at The Rothman Institute at Thomas University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, he joined Orthopaedic Specialists in 2014.

Dr. Woods brings both fellowship training at a premier healthcare institution – and years of experience “on the field” – to the sports medicine team at Orthopaedic Specialists (OSNI). Having served as fellow for the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and Flyers as well as a team physician for several athletic teams at the college and high school level, Dr. Woods is experienced in treating virtually all sports-related injuries.

Dr. Craig Best specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal disorders with special training in non-surgical care of neck and back pain. He utilizes thorough history and physical examination, imaging, electrodiagnostic studies, and diagnostic injections to identify specific pain generators and provides comprehensive treatment plans that may consist of non-opioid medications, detailed physical/occupational therapy or exercise prescriptions, osteopathic manual medicine, or injections.

Dr. Best completed his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry) residency at RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital. He is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and board eligible in the subspecialty of Pain Medicine.
