NWI Delegation Seeks to Learn from… New Jersey?

One Region, a non-profit organization based out of Northwest Indiana, announced that it will send a delegation of its local elected officials, business, community and education leaders, to see firsthand how cities in New Jersey have turned the corner to improve quality of place and life to attract residents. One Region strives to grow population, attract and retain talent and increase household income for its residents.

As part of One Region’s Inaugural Benchmarking tour, the delegation of 30 hopes to learn from New Jersey’s successes in development, and draw parallels to its home region. The delegation is specifically interested in learning more about how New Jersey has leveraged its proximity to New York City, NY and Philadelphia, PA. One Region represents Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties with a population of 760,000 and is adjacent to the City of Chicago.

Organized by Leah Konrady, the President & CEO of One Region, this delegation will visit Jersey City, Hoboken, Newark, Asbury Park, and Trenton. The delegation will tour waterfront and downtown redevelopments, partnerships among cities and local organizations spurring investments, the importance of diversity and inclusion as well as public input, and ways in which leadership can transform areas.
