Mobile Fundraiser Secures $4M Funding Boost of its Own

OneCause, a leader in mobile fundraising, announced it has closed $4 million of new growth financing. The new investment will be deployed to aggressively accelerate development of its fully integrated fundraising platform including online giving, event management, mobile bidding, and peer-to-peer social fundraising. The organization will also continue its rapid expansion of sales and marketing efforts as they incorporate this the acquisition of Great Feats, a peer-to-peer fundraising platform.

“There has been explosive growth in the nonprofit software industry and an increasing demand for year-round fundraising solutions that help nonprofits expand their reach beyond the ballroom,” said Kirk Wolfe, general partner with MK Capital. “We’re excited to continue supporting OneCause as they evolve mobile giving to meet the needs of future donors and fundraisers.”

The round was led by Chicago-based MK Capital with participation from Allos Ventures, and new investor, WinTrust Ventures.  MK Capital and Allos Ventures previously led OneCause’s 2016 financing.

“OneCause has proven itself to be the industry leader in fundraising technology, and we’re excited for the opportunity to help accelerate the growth of their platform,” said Bailey Moore, managing director for Wintrust Ventures.

Since 2008, OneCause has helped thousands of nonprofits raise $1.5 billion for their causes with their easy-to-use, suite of fundraising solutions. The organization has grown from a single-point solution centered around event fundraising to a year-round, integrated fundraising platform. Earlier this year, OneCause announced the brand evolution from the original BidPal name and expanded its portfolio with the acquisition Great Feats.

“2018 has been a record growth year for OneCause in all areas that we measure. Software subscriptions have increased nearly 40% over last year as more nonprofits take advantage of our year-round fundraising solutions,” said Steve Johns, chief executive officer of OneCause. “This investment will allow us to continue the momentum we have created by offering the very best value in SaaS, mobile and integrated payment systems for year-round nonprofit fundraising.”
