

Metro Recycling Honored for Air Quality Efforts
Metro Recycling was named Business of the Year at the Northwest Indiana Partners for Clean Air Luncheon & Awards Ceremony held at the Hammond Port Authority in Hammond, Indiana.
This achievement has been awarded to Metro Recycling for their voluntary actions taken to enhance air quality in Northwest Indiana.
Partners for Clean Air (PCA) is a coalition of Northwest Indiana businesses, industries, local government, and community groups committed to improving overall air quality and public health through voluntary actions.
Metro Recycling CEO Neil Samahon commented, “We work in an industry that serves the public’s desire to recycle, and we always attempt to exceed what is expected from us. It is part of our mission to promote sustainability. Every employee at Metro shares in the pride and honor of this recognition.”
The award was accepted by CEO Neil Samahon and in attendance were Operations Director Jesslyn Dykstra and Marketing Coordinator Olivia Sanders.
Metro Recycling is a family-owned business founded in 1988, with recycling yards in Valparaiso and Griffith, Indiana as well as Blue Island, Illinois. Its sister company, Metro Auto Recyclers, launched in 1998, with yards in Valparaiso and Indianapolis, Indiana.
