Luncheon & Style Show to Benefit TradeWinds Deaf Services

Coming up this October, TradeWinds Services will be celebrating 40 years of commitment to improving the lives of deaf citizens in Northwest Indiana with a special luncheon and style show event. TradeWinds’s Deaf Services has been providing support, education, advocacy and access to technology for individuals and their families faced with issues related to hearing loss since 1978.

The organization’s interpreters are available to work in the community 24/7, and American Sign Language (ASL) classes are part of the ongoing efforts to improve communication and overall quality of life for the deaf and hard of hearing community. The Annual Luncheon & Style Show helps provide additional funding for the TradeWinds Deaf Services program.

TradeWinds is a full-service agency providing services from infants to seniors. The organization coordinates all-inclusive childcare and children’s summer camps and speech & occupational therapy.

It also serves adults with physical and intellectual disabilities with programs which include adult day activity program & training (adapt), pre-vocational services in packaging & assembly and order fulfillment, sewing manufacturing, sign shop and employment services; residential group homes and supported living; respite for caregivers, deaf services; and a Chicago Lighthouse Low Vision Clinic for residents of Northwest Indiana.
