Lake County Corn Dogs Plan Opening Day Festivities

Opening day for the Lake County Corn Dogs, is Thursday, May 26th with a day packed with festivities to celebrate the team’s inaugural season. The Corn Dogs will be playing against the NWI Oilmen in a three-game home opener series at Legacy Fields, located at Center Ross Park, 851 Center Ross Road.

“We are ready to play baseball with affordable family fun for kids and grownups alike,” Corn Dogs Majority Owner Ralph Flores said.

Gates open at 5:30 pm with fans enjoying live music by Eli and the Elements, beer garden, corn dogs and the new Kids Zone.  Fun games and contests will happen throughout the game.

Eli Hernandez will be singing the National Anthem with Crown Point Mayor David Uran throwing out the first pitch at 7:00 pm.  The Lake County Corn Dogs is managed by former Kansas City Royals Pitcher Justin Huisman.

Tickets are available at, or on game day at the Legacy Fields ticket office. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and under.
