Hemp Producer Creating 40 Jobs

BDX-Indiana announced plans to bring more than 40 new jobs to Westfield. BDX-Indiana is a sister company of Biodynamic Ventures, the largest hemp grower in Indiana. A new partnership with Zelios is setting the stage for BDX-Indiana to build its hemp extraction facility in Westfield.

“We have all seen the growth and innovation of the CBD oil industry and now Westfield will play a major role in its future,” said Mayor Cook. “BDX-Indiana brings a lot of opportunity to our city. We can support the agriculture production and the extraction innovation. I am glad to see that BDX-Indiana chose Westfield.”

“With our experienced partners, we plan to meet the growing demand of hemp products while creating jobs for the City of Westfield and State of Indiana,” said Ken Thieneman, President, BDX-Indiana.

In its first three years, Biodynamics/BDX-Indiana will be one of the largest CBD oil extractors in the nation. The company will produce Full-Spectrum Dissolute products from hemp grown in Indiana by Indiana farmers and processed in Indiana.

The Phase One build out is expected to begin this month with production to start in December. Phase Two is set to begin in March. In the next three years, BDX-Indiana plans to invest $50 million in Westfield with average annual salaries to be approximately $70,000. Last month, the Westfield City Council approved a 5-year personal property tax abatement for its Phase One plans.

Upon passage of the 2018 US Farm Bill, which legalized hemp-derived CBD products, hemp and CBD oil production ballooned to fill the needs of what is expected to be a $7 billion industry by 2023, according to Hemp Industry Daily.
