This year’s spooky celebration is going to be good for business. Americans are projected to spend $8.8 billion this year on terrifying treats and costumes, according to the National Retail Federation.

Retail shoppers will spend an average of $86.27 on 2019 Halloween revelry. This will amount to roughly:

$3.2 billion on costumes
$2.6 billion on candy
$2.7 billion on decorations
$390 million on greeting cards

Also, shoppers are projected to spend about $490 million on costumes for their furry friends. More than 29 million people in the U.S. plan to dress up their cats, dogs, and other pets.
