Evansville Firm Part of $7.2B Contract
Atlas World Group, Inc., the parent company of Atlas® Van Lines, Inc. and Atlas® World Group International, announced the company, alongside a team of strategic suppliers, has been selected for a new multiyear award contract by the United States Transportation Command (TRANSCOM). Valued at nearly $7.2 billion for the transition period and three-year base period, the contracted team of suppliers, known as Team ARC, will execute all global relocation services for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the U.S. Coast Guard with a focus on improving the quality of service provided to Service Members, their families, and DoD civilians under the Global Household Goods Contract (GHC) (HTC711-19-R-R004).
Led by American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier Group, Inc. (ARC), Team ARC was purposefully and strategically assembled from leaders in the moving, logistics, and technology industries to reduce the burden and stress on Service Members and their families. In addition to Atlas World Group, the major partners in Team ARC include American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier Group (ARC), UniGroup, Suddath, The Pasha Group and Deloitte.
“Atlas has long supported Service Members with their relocation needs, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve these brave and honorable men and women,” said Jack Griffin, Chairman & CEO of Atlas World Group. “Our engagement with Team ARC brings the world’s best together to provide seamless moving, storage and technology solutions that will provide an unprecedented customer experience.”
GHC appoints a single commercial move manager to oversee the domestic and international movement and storage-in-transit of service members’ household goods. Team ARC will provide all personnel, equipment, facilities, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and services necessary to provide relocation services. Powering Team ARC’s GHC efforts and coordination is the technological platform known as Homefront. Homefront delivers the necessary integration capabilities by leveraging an industry-leading Customer Relationship Management platform and innovative industry-developed transportation and asset management technology to enable scalability, workforce cross-training, and an enhanced customer experience.
The GHC includes an initial 9-month transition period that is expected to commence in May 2020, pending no delays. The GHC could run over nine years if all options and awards are exercised by the United States Government.
