Deputy Commissioner of Labor to Present OSHA Updates to Firms

Indiana Deputy Commissioner of Labor Tim Maley will be presenting the latest OSHA updates and requirements to Indiana business leaders on October 24th as part of the Northwest Indiana Business RoundTable (NWIBRT) and Construction Advancement Foundation’s (CAF) commitment to keeping its members equipped with the most accurate information available.

There have been numerous changes and additions to OSHA mandates over the past year, particularly in areas such as silica exposure requirements and additional changes that directly impact the health and well-being of workers. As such, NWIBRT and CAF officials strongly agreed that regional firms would have a lot to gain by learning about the updates from the best possible source.

Dept. Commissioner Maley manages both Indiana OSHA construction and general industry compliance divisions, and the Indiana Voluntary Protection Program. Prior to work with the Department of Labor, Tim was employed with Eli Lilly for 30 years, spending most of his time in safety management. While at Lilly, Tim led the Lilly Technology Center (a large multi business drug development and manufacturing site) to OSHA’s VPP Merit certification, VPP Star Certification and VPP Star re-certification. During this time, the company experienced significant accident reduction.

The event will be held at Innsbrook Country Club at 3732, 6701 Taft St, Merrillville, IN at 3:00 PM on October 24th. Following the presentation, networking and refreshment opportunities will be available.

The event will be free to NWIBRT and CAF members as an additional value-added benefit to their participation with the organizations. For non-members, admittance will only be $25.
