Coolest AE Projects: Boys & Girls Club of Fort Wayne

Indiana architects and engineers have a ton of cool projects going on, but we wanted to hear about the ones that got them most excited. So, we put out the call to firms throughout the state for their input on the coolest architecture and engineering projects that have taken place in the last few years.

No requirements in terms of project cost, scale, location, or industry. We simply wanted the experts to tell us about the most exciting and interesting projects they’ve recently worked on. Their responses did not disappoint. Check out what Elevatus Architecture shared with us:

Construction Partners:

Outgrowing the capacity of their original building at the time, the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne embarked on a capital campaign mission to raise more than $8 million dollars to construct a world-class facility for children. While working with Elevatus Architecture on the design, club officials highlighted the need for spaces that transform the lives of teenage children.

Presenting career opportunities to kids through various classrooms, collaboration zones, mentorship, and tutoring spaces was a priority throughout all of the design stages. The entire second floor has several learning center rooms, an e-gaming suite, a dance studio, a café, and a game room.

The first floor includes a trade partnering room to teach future generations the various opportunities available through trades programs. Additional spaces include three large learning center rooms, a STEAM/art lab, a gymnasium, large and small game rooms, and a multi-purpose/cafeteria for select performances.
