Chester Inc. Adds New Purchasing Assistant

Valparaiso-based Chester Inc., an architectural, construction, IT, and agricultural systems firm, recently announced the addition of Deanna Grimes as the company’s new purchasing agent. In her new role, she will be coordinating activities across many of the company’s suppliers and vendors and will also be developing new supply chain relationships within the variety of industries that Chester serves.

Grimes is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and is an alumna of the University of Cincinnati. She came to Northwest Indiana in 2007 following graduation. Her professional experience includes seven years in the floral industry, and several different purchasing roles in various industries before joining Chester Inc.

“We’re very excited to add Deanna’s skills to our purchasing department. She has a keen sense of opportunities and an eye for detail that will likely prove to be very valuable for our customers. Given the amount of disruption that every industry has experienced over the past several months, we’re focused on strengthening our supply chain and developing new supplier relationships as part of an overall strategy to enhance offerings to all of the clients we serve,” said Rich Shields, director of marketing and business development.

Chester Inc. is northern Indiana’s exclusive architectural & construction, information technologies, and agricultural systems firm. For nearly 70 years, the company has been providing turnkey solutions to clients across a wide variety of services, including design/build, financing, technology integration, irrigation, and grain handling.
